After the resignation of the ex-Governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan was sworn-in as the Governor of the state by the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, with the consent given by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. Radhakrishnan will look after the additional duties as the Telangana Governor.
According to the orders passed by Droupadi Murmu, Radhakrishnan will continue as the Telangana Governor till a new Governor is appointed. Being a native of Tamilnadu, Radhakrishnan will also look after the duties of the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Besides working as the state’s BJP chief, the newly elected Governor of Telangana was appointed as the BJP MP from Coimbatore in 1998-99.
Attempting his keen attention to reinforce the BJP in his home state Tamilnadu, Radhakrishnan was elected as the Governor of Jharkhand last year. Indeed, he faced defeat 3 times post this triumph.
