It is known news that young Tiger Jr NTR is playing the role of Komaram Bheem in SS Rajamouli’ directorial venture RRR which is set in British India of the 1920s. Recently on the occasion of Jr NTR’ birthday, Rajamouli introduced the audience to his Komaram Bheem from RRR.
Apparently, Adilabad tribal community is very upset as Young Tiger Jr NTR was depicted as a Muslim, especially with his character wearing muslim skullcap being the major bone of contention.
Komaram Bheem is regarded as a hero to the Adilabad tribals, and they believe that his depiction in muslim gateup is an “insult” to their hero who led an uprising against the last Nizam. They have threatened to Rajamouli to file a case under the SC/ST Atrocities Act if certain scenes aren’t deleted with immediate effect.
Finally the sources close to RRR makers and SS Rajamouli responded on this issue and said that the scene where Jr NTR is seen in a Muslim get up has no connection to Komaram Bheem’ story and is just a glimpse. The audiences will be understood only when they watch the film. Rajamouli who is busy in the shoot, is yet to respond on this issue.
