A serious road accident took place in Kakinada district. A lorry carrying a load of gravel lost control at Kottapally on Sunday morning. The lorry, which was going from Annavaram towards Ontimamidi, hit a drinking water tank on the side of the road in Kottapalli and rammed into the nearby Ganesha temple. In this incident, a man named Somu Lakshmana Rao (48) who was sleeping in the temple along with the lorry driver Dhoti Shekhar (28), cleaner Konur Nagendra (23) died on the spot. Police have identified the lorry driver and cleaner as belonging to Gajjanapudi village of Prattipadu mandal. Local authorities are investigating the incident while the community mourns this devastating loss.
On the otherside, a fatal road accident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning near Dhagepalli in Palnadu district. A lorry parked on the roadside was hit by the speeding private travel bus. One person died in this incident. Five other passengers were seriously injured. The front of the bus was completely destroyed in the accident. It seems that there were 50 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident.
After receiving information about this accident, the police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the local government hospital. The accident took place when the bus belonging to Kaveri Travels was going from Hyderabad to Ongole.
