Famous film actor Kamal Haasan has supported the Women’s Reservation Bill. It is known that the Central Government is holding its first meetings in the new Parliament building. The Center introduced the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha for the first time in the building of the new Parliament. After a brief discussion, the Lok Sabha will pass this bill today. Makkal Needhi Maiyam Party chief Kamal Haasan responded by saying, “This bill will rectify the long-standing injustice to the largest minority.” Terming this day as a milestone in the history of our republic, he said that the House of Democracy has shifted to a new building. Expressed happiness for taking up the Women’s Bill. 

“A landmark day in the history of our Republic, as the seat of our democracy moved into its new home. I’m delighted that the first Bill tabled in this new Parliament corrects a longstanding injustice perpetrated against the largest minority in our nation, the women of India. I wholeheartedly applaud the Women Reservation Bill tabled yesterday. Nations that ensure gender equality will always prosper. During the Parliamentary discussion on the Bill, I call upon all parties to address the following concerns,” Kamal posted on X.

However, Kamal expressed concern that this bill will come into force only after the census and the next constituency redistricting. Delayed implementation would lead to the risk of this historic decision being limited to mere words, and requested that it be put into effect immediately.
