The Hindi version of the film is just a couple of days away from surpassing the Rs 70-crore mark. Now according to the latest report, Kantara has created a record in Karnataka. According to the latest report, more than 1 crores tickets of Kantara were sold in Karnataka state alone, which is a remarkable achievement of a small-budget movie which has turned out a money spinner at the box office. Kantara is creating a sensation in all industries.
Kantara is an action drama which written, directed and acted by Rishab Shetty. Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore and others are playing the important roles in this drama. The film Kantara was accused of plagiarism by Kerala-based music band, Thaikudam Bridge. The film is now marching towards Rs 350 crore worldwide.

Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, the movie follows the character of Shetty who is playing a Kambala champion who has a faceoff with an upright Forest Range officer. Kantara deals with the issue of land politics and man vs nature.
