It is known that SS Rajamouli‘ magnum opus RRR and Pan Nalin’ Chhello Show have been shortlisted for 95th Academy Awards/ Oscars. It’s also revealed that the blockbuster movie Kantara, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, has been sent for consideration for Oscars 2023.
Kantara’ producers, Hombale Productions confirmed that they have sent the Rishab Shetty starrer film to be considered for the nominations at the Oscars 2023. Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Productions said they are hopeful for Kantara’ nominations and its importance in representing Indian culture worldwide. He also said: Rishab Shetty is away and once he is back, we will discuss what we want to do a sequel or a prequel. We will have something in couple of months. We definitely have plans for Kantara 2 but there is no timeline.
Kannada film Kantara starring Rishab Shetty received an overwhelming response upon its release in theatres on September 30. The movie follows a Kambala champion, essayed by Rishab Shetty, who comes to loggerheads with an upright Forest Range officer, Murali (Kishore).
Apart from Rishab Shetty, Kantara also has Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda in pivotal roles, Kantara earned over Rs. 500 crore worldwide at the box office in its run.
