The acclaimed lyricist Vennelakanti Rajeswara Prasad has breathed his last in Chennai. He passed away on Monday. He was  born  in 1957 in Nellore,  and started to pen the  poetry from a young age and was inclined towards spiritual speeches and Harikathas.

Vennelakanti Rajeswara Prasad passed away due to cardiac arrest at his residence. He is known for his dialogue writing in dubbed movies and also wrote scripts for a few movies. Vennelakanti  is survived by wife and two sons. His elder son  named Shashank Vennelakanti is also a popular lyricist.

Vennelakanti Rajeswara Prasad penned the lyrics for nearly 2000 songs and wrote dialogues for 300 movies  Vennelakanti  is known for penning the lyrics for the songs ‘Raasaleela Vela’ (Aditya369), ‘Mavayya Anna Pilupu’ (Muddula Mavayya), and ‘Maatarani Mounamidi’ (Maharshi). The update is that the last rites of Legendary lyricist will be held today in Chennai. His last movie was National award winning actress Keerthy Suresh starrer woman centric movie ‘Penguin’  which was released in 2020.

In 2020, several Telugu  personalities which include SP Balasubrahmanyam, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Raavi Kondala Rao, Kosuri Venu Gopal, Kola Bhasker and Narsing Yadav passed away.
