Tollywood senior actor, Navarasa actor Sarvabhauma Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad in the wee hours on Friday. He was suffering from illness for some time. Kaikala Satyanarayana breathed his last in the hospital today. His body will be brought to his residence in Film Nagar at 11 am.

87 year-old actor Sarvabhauma Kaikala Satyanarayana was survived by two daughters and sons.

He  started his career with the film Sipayi Koothuru  which was released in 1959. His close resemblance to NTR was the talking point back then. As he  started his acting career as a body double to NTR in a few films before the latter himself offered Kaikala a role in Apoorva Sahasra Siraccheda Chintamani in  the year 1960. He acted in more than 750 films as a villain, character artist and comedy roles in his filmy career. In 2019 he was last seen in the film ‘Maharshi’ starring Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde. 

Kaikala Satyanarayana got elected to 11th Lok Sabha from Machilipatnam on TDP ticket, but withdrew from politics after 1998. He received several awards, including 2011 Raghupati Venkaiah award, 2017 Filmfare lifetime achievement award for Tollywood and Andhra Pradesh government’s Nandi film awards.

Born in 1935, his  native place is Kautavaram village, Gudla Valleru mandal, Krishna district.. The funeral will be held tomorrow at Maha Prasthana.
