A week ago, the Enforcement Directorate – ED officials issued notices to Liger team- Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur on charges of violating FEMA norms in the investment case related to the movie Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday.
ED grilled renowned Puri Jagannadh and producer-actor Charmee Kaur after it received a complaint that CM KCR’s family members invested black money in the recently released action thriller drama Liger.
ED investigation of Liger team has ended. It was suspected that large amounts of cash transactions were made in Puri and Charmee’ account. In the investigation which lasted for about 12 hours, the ED questioned Puri and Charmee.
ED officials suspect that many political leaders have invested in the production of this film. Officials have found that a large amount of foreign cash has been deposited in Puri Jagannadh’s account. It is in this regard the notice was sent to Puri Jagannadh and the producer of the film Charmee. They reached the Basheerbagh ED Office yesterday morning .
ED officials questioned Puri Jagannadh for 12 hours about foreign investments in the film. Officials expressed suspicion that the investments were made in the form of hawala and money laundering. Foreign investments as well as local investments were also enquired.
