Maharshi copied from Sriwass story

Superstar Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde starrer Maharshi, is doing fantastic collections at the box office. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, the story of Maharshi is borrowed from a story, which is penned by Sriwass, a popular director in Telugu film industry.

Sriwaas claimed that he had earlier wrote a premise similar to the one been used in Maharshi by Vamsi Paidipally. A report published in an English-language daily says that the basic premise of Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi is not original. The story of Maharshi is copied from an existing story written by director Sriwass.

As per the report, many years ago, Telugu film maker Sriwass wrote a story whose premise is very much similar to that of the Mahesh Babu movie. After watching the movie ‘Maharshi’, Sriwass was shocked and he decided to contact producer Dil Raju.

The sources say that Dil Raju and Sriwass have come to an informal agreement. Instead of going for legal fight, they have decided to compromise. The sources added that Dil Raju has offered him a project in his banner.

Maharshi is directed by Vasmi Paidipally and is jointly bankrolled by Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt, and Prasad V. Potluri through their production companies Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinema.
