Tamil actor Jiva has depicted multiple characters in his career of 20 years in the film industry. Not only in Tamil, but also he worked in other languages and attained super successful films all in all. Recently, he got an opportunity to act in a Telugu biopic. He was asked to play the role of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The film is titled Yatra 2 and it is directed by Mahi V Raghav.
But on the contrary, Jiva was hesitant to play the role of a politician and had decided to reject it. On the other hand, he is unaware of Telugu language as well. So, he seeked the advice of Mammootty, who played the role of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, before bifurcation. Jiva said, Mammootty sir told me, ‘Why not? We are actors. We might act as a politician in one film, a cop in the next and may be a murderer in another. That doesn’t mean we are a politician, cops are a muderer.’ That kept my hesitation upon the politician role away.’
Finally, he said that he was impressed by Mammootty’s words and watched the film and again, he said that the film’s director had stolen his heart with an enchanting story that includes mesmerizing dialogues and heat-touching emotions. Jiva watched the film with the help of his Telugu-speaking neighbour’s narration.
