The Bangur Nagar police found the body of a model woman named Mansi Dixit in a large suitcase, from the roadside in in suburban Malad, Mumbai on Monday. According to the police report, the victim’s hands and neck were tied with the rope.
Mansi Dixit, who was around 20 years, had moved from Kota, Rajasthan, to pursue her dream of modelling in the Mumbai. Her office was situated next to the Infinity Mall in Andheri.
Initial investigations suggest Mansi Dixit was murdered by the accused, Muzammil Sayyed. The police have arrested 19-year-old Muzammil Sayyed, who is a resident of Hyderabad, and lives in Millat Nagar, Andheri (West). According to the police report, Muzammil Sayyed killed Mansi Dixit, stuffed her body in the suitcase and then dumped it in Malad. On Monday, the Police arrested Muzammil Sayyed.
The police believe that Mansi Dixit met Muzammil Sayyed, a student, on the internet. On Monday afternoon, both had met at Sayyed’s apartment in Andheri and after an argument, Muzammil Sayyed allegedly hit Mansi Dixit with a blunt object and then strangled her to the death. Later he stuffed her body in a suitcase and hailed a private cab from Andheri to Malad. Later he dumped her body near Mindspace, in the cover of mangroves. According to the police report, this incident took place between 3 pm to 4 pm.
The murder case of Mansi Dixit came in light after the cab driver, who allegedly drove her killer to the location from a street, informed to the police and helped them track down the accused. The police arrested the accused Muzammil Sayyed, within 4 hours with the help of CCTV.
The police has sent the dead body of Mansi Dixit for autopsy. The Officials of Bangur Nagar police station are conducting further probe. Muzammil Sayyed, will be produced before a metropolitan court on Tuesday.
