Post wedding, this is the first time when Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni are working together for an upcoming romantic and family entertainer Majili. The movie is directed by Shiva Nirvana, who has also penned the story and dialogues, is slated to hit the theaters on 5th April. Recently Majili Makers interacted with media and opened up about Naga Chaitanya’ role. According to them, Naga Chaitanya is playing the role of Poorna, a middle class husband of Samantha Akkineni, who is simple yet complicated at the same time.
Majili’ makers revealed that Naga Chaitanya’ character will be quite intense and versatile. Apparently, he will be seen as a middle-class husband. Recently released teaser and poster have already gave hints about the actor’s character. Apart from Samantha, Majili also has another actress Divyansha Kaushik, the second female lead.
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya had shared the screen space in three films – Maaya Chesave, Manam and Autonagar Surya earlier and Majili will be their 4th outing together. Incidentally, Majili will be their first film post wedding, so expectations are very high.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya starrer Majili is jointly bankrolled by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens banner. Gopi Sundar is the music composer. Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali and Subbaraju are playing the crucial roles.
Samantha Akkineni was last seen in murder mystery drama U Turn, directed by Pawan Kumar, which was hit at the box office. Currently the actress is working with Naga Shaurya in upcoming Telugu movie O Baby ! Yentha Sakkagunnave, in the direction of Nandini Reddy. O Baby is remake of Korean movie Miss Granny.
On the other side, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is currently working with Venkatesh Daggubati in upcoming multistarrer Venky Mama, in which Payal Rajput and Raashi Khanna are playing the female leads.
