Aadi was an action drama starring Young Tiger Jr NTR which was released in 2002. Helmed by VV Vinayak, the film had Keerthi Chawla as the leading lady. Later the movie was remade in Tamil as Jai and in Bengali as Surya. Aadi won four Nandi Awards and was released in 118 centres and ran for 100 days in 98 centres. It was a blockbuster at the box office. The movie marks the directorial debut of VV Vinayak. But how did Aadi actually happen? Here’s what the director VV Vinayak had to say.
Recently during the media interaction, VV Vinayak revealed that he first prepared a love story for Young Tiger Jr NTR. Though the actor liked the script but his good friend Kodali Nani asked him not to do a romantic saga at that point in time. When Vinayak came to know about it he prepared Aadi a script in two days and narrated it to NTR. Tarak liked it and gave his green signal.
Later VV Vinayak, Jr NTR, and Kodali Nani teamed up for Adhurs. Kodali Nani produced this film and it was a box office success too.
On the otherside, Jr NTR was last seen playing one of the lead role in Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR which also had Ram Charan in the lead role.
