India’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation tomorrow i.e 14th April at 10 am. The 21 days nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus ends tomorrow. And it is expected Modi is likely to talk about its possible extension.
Post Modi’s video conference with CM of the states on Saturday, everyone expected that there would be an announcement on the extension of lockdown the same day. However, the sources denied any such announcement coming from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Saturday, Narendra Modi met 13 chief ministers of the states to take a call on extending the period of lockdown to control the spread of covid-19. In the meeting, the CMs of most states had asked for an extension of the lockdown period. After the meeting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal created a flutter when he said that PM Narendra Modi has agreed to extend the lockdown till 30th April.
Maharashtra, Telangana, Punjab and Odisha, have already extended the lockdown till 30th April.
On 24th March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a 21 days nation-wide shutdown to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
According to the Health Ministry data, the number of coronavirus cases in our country India has crossed the 9,000 mark whereas the death toll has crossed 300.
