Nayakudu movie Review: Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh, Lal and Vijay Kumar starrer Nayakudu helmed by Mari Selvaraj has arrived at the theaters today. Let’s see the story of Nayakudu.

Story: Maharaju (Vadivelu) who belongs to an oppressed community,  becomes an MLA. But his son Raghu Veera (Udayanidhi Stalin) is a martial arts master but  they have not talked for years. Why do these two, who are sons and daughters, stop talking? What is an unexpected event in Maharaju’s life? To get these answer, one should watch the movie Nayakudu on silver screen.

 Plus Points:

·         Vadivelu’ Performance

·         Interval Episode

·         Climax

·         Emotional scene

 Minus Points:

·         Slow-paced screenplay

·         Few dull scenes in second half

Performance: The senior actor Vadivelu  gave a terrific performance in the main role. Our Telugu audience mostly knows him as a comedian but the role of a serious politician played by him in this film is amazing. Also another versatile actor Fahad Fazil also acted in this film. He also impresses as a serious politician. Udhayanidhi Stalin’ performance is neat. Keerthy Suresh, who appeared in the main role along with the hero Udayanidhi Stalin, is fine.  The rest of the star performed accordingly.

Technical: Nayakudu has good concept. AR Rahman’s music worked out well for many important scenes in this movie. Those scenes are elevated very effectively.  The production values are good.  Telugu dubbing is not up to the mark. Music and cinematography are good. Editing should be better. Coming on the work of  director Mari Selvaraj, he has taken good content but it would have been better if he had designed a racy screenplay.

Analysis: Like every film by director Mari Selvaraj, this film also has promising content but the narration is slow. With this, it will disappoint those who want a bit of fast screenplay in such interesting dramas. If you want to watch a decent political thriller with low expectations, you can try this movie once.
