Lady Superstar Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan landed into controversy after they welcomed twins via surrogacy. Tamil Nadu government ordered a probe over it and asked Nayan to submit the details. As per the sources, Nayanthara and Vignesh submitted an affidavit and a marriage certificate to the Tamil Nadu health department citing their marriage registered 6 years ago.
They also mentioned that the surrogate mother is Nayanthara’ relative who resides in UAE. The couple announced their twin boys last week . It is known that the couple got married in Chennai on 9th June this year. The couple had an intimate wedding ceremony in Chennai with Shah Rukh Khan, music director AR Rahman, Suriya and Rajinikanth in attendance.
Days after the arrival of their twins via surrogacy, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have submitted an affidavit claiming they got their marriage registered six years ago.
As per the Surrogacy Regulation Act, passed in December last year, a couple should be married for 5 years and the surrogate should be a married relative with a child of her own. Altruistic surrogacy is for the infertile Indian couples with husband between 26 and 55 years of age and the wife between 23 and 50 years.
