It has been revealed that the next pandemic to rock the world will originate from America. It has been said that the way meat is being supplied in the US market, the risk of such an epidemic has increased.
“The rules are not being properly followed in America. With these developments, there is a risk of a dangerous virus spreading from animals to humans,” said a report by Harvard Law School, New York University.
” To be honest, we are weaker than other countries. Look at commercial farming. There, people come in contact with many animals. But the regulations are not followed properly. The same is true in the wild animal trade. Health regulations are not followed. We are mixing animals and pathogens in different continents at will,” said report lead author Ann Linder.
“More than 220 million animals are imported into America every year. There are rules for bringing in dogs. But there is no proper regulation when it comes to importing forest animals,” said Linder. The experts say there is a lack of regulations for the safety of laborers working on pig and poultry farms.
The report said that workers working in pig and poultry farms are at risk of exposure to the new epidemic.
