Today on 28th January, the makers of upcoming big budget film Gangubai Kathiawadi made official announcement regarding the new release date. The makers of Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt have officially announced that the upcoming film will release theatrically on 25th February, 2022. While making the announcement the makers said, “Witness her reign in cinemas near you on 25th February 2022 #GangubaiKathiawadi.”
The women centric film Gangubai Kathiawadi was earlier slated to hit the theaters in the month of July last year but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this film, Alia Bhatt is playing the role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful and respected madams from Kamathipura, Mumbai’ red light area, during the 1960s. Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi will mark Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 10th project.
Alia Bhatt starrer, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is all set to have its much-awaited world premiere at the prestigious 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. The upcoming film also has Tanhaji fame Ajay Devgn as the mobster.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is one of the most-anticipated films in the Hindi film industry. Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt will be seen playing the female lead role in SS Rajamouli’ RRR which also has Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.
