Noted producer and distributor Suresh Babu has brought the Telugu remake rights of Tamil blockbuster film Asuran. He in the hunt of a director for this remake. Earlier it was heard that Hanu Raghavapudi will direct the Asuran remake but later few people said that the makers are roping Srikanth Addala to helm Asuran remake in which Venkatesh will play the lead role. Few days ago, Suresh Babu attended the media and when he was asked about the director for Asuran remake, the producer clarified that Srikanth Addala is going to direct the movie. He also informed that in couple of days, the official announcement will also come out regarding the same.
Srikanth Addala has gone underground after the disaster of Mahesh Babu starrer Brahmotsavam, which was a big disaster of Telugu Film Industry. Now Srikanth Addala has been finalised for the remake of Asuran with Venkatesh in Telugu.
Venkatesh Daggubati is popular as the remake King and this role of Asuran suits him very well and the movie was a big success in other languages. The makers are planning to rope Shriya Saran to play the female lead. Earlier Venkatesh Daggubati and Shriya Saran have worked together for few movies such as Subash Chandra Bose (2005), Tulasi (2007) and Gopala Gopala (2015).
Srikanth Addala’ first directorial venture was Kotha Bangaru Lokam starring Varun Sandesh and Shweta Basu Prasad. The movie was well received and was declared one of the biggest hits of 2008. His second project Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Mahesh Babu, released in 2013.
Asuran is based on popular Tamil novel Vekkai, is helmed by Vetrimaaran, the film is the blood-soaked revenge story of a father, a farmer who avenges the ruthless murder of his son. Dhanush played dual roles in this film, which is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. Manju Warrier essayed Dhanush’ wife in this film.
