The incident took place on 28th of this month in Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune. While the Ola electric scooter was burning, the locals took many videos. They have now gone viral. Efforts made by the firemen to stop the fire were also recorded in some videos.
However, Ola Electric company responded on this matter. The reasons for the vehicle catching fire have been revealed.
Ola Electric scooter fire accident: “On 28th of this month, it came to our attention that an Ola electric scooter caught fire in the parking lot of DY Patil College, Pune. There was no harm to the customer. We immediately started an investigation into the incident. The vehicle battery was found that it was working properly. However, instead of using original parts, the reason for this accident was the use of other parts from outside,” explained Ola Electric on Twitter .
Meanwhile, PCMC (Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation) has also taken up the investigation on this incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accident may have occurred due to a battery-related problem.
