As we had reported, former Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah have been detained under the Public Safety Act which enables the government to detain any individual for two years. Onto this, AIMM chief and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly responded.

On having a discussion with media people, Mr. Owaisi said that before bringing the decision to abrogate the special provisions of abrogating Article 370 in Parliament, PM Modi had met Dr. Abdullah and onto this Asad said, “How can the government now impose the Public Safety Act (PSA) against Abdullah? How has he suddenly become a threat to the nation” AIMM chief took his views to Twitter and posted saying, “I condemn the application of the draconian PSA against Farooq Abdullah.”

He further expressed his feelings saying, the 80 years old could be a threat to PM Modi and his government. He said detaining J & K chief minister has now made him put the government in the same glare as separatist Masrat Alam.

Asaduddin has shared his views on the current situation in Kashmir as there is no normalcy being seen in Kashmir and many youths are being arrested. Asaduddin told that “14-year-old children are being arrested. They are beaten up for two-three days inside the lock-up and then handed over to their parents by the Inspector. There is no implementation of Juvenile Justice Act there and juvenile centre having a capacity to accommodate 100 children are overcrowded with 500”.

On questioning the Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad’s petition to travel to J&K, Owaisi asked, “Why does a former Chief Minister (Ghulam Nabi Azad) of Jammu and Kashmir need to seek permission from Supreme Court to travel to Jammu and Kashmir? It shows that there is no normalcy in Kashmir. If the government claims that everything is normal then why can’t politics be done?”
