Relations between Pakistan and India might be at their lowest ebb in years but the presence of celebrated Indian Film makers and actors at the Pakistan International Film Festival, in Karachi has lifted the bar for the event.
The recently concluded Pakistan International Film Festival saw several Indian stars in attendance. The film festival had Pakistan’s popular faces hobnobing with Indian film personalities like SS Rajamouli, Nandita Das, Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj and Vinay Pathak.
Rajamouli screened his Baahubali at the festival while Vishal Bhardwaj was a part of multiple panel discussions that took place as part of the festival.
SS Rajamouli said, “In our childhood, we assumed Pakistan is our enemy and the biggest enemy is Wasim Akram. But when we grew older, we realized that the enemies aren’t really enemies. they are people like us’. It takes some courage to say Pakistan is our enemy on their Soil. But Rajamouli said it.
The National Award winning multi-talented talent Bhardwaj said, “I love Pakistan. Whenever I come here, I find a reason to come back again. I didn`t find any changes. The only change I found is that the love for us has increased.”
