A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court against the constructions being undertaken by the AP government in Rushikonda, Visakha. Environmentalist Lingamaneni Sivaram Prasad filed this lawsuit alleging that the construction of the CM’s camp office is being done against the rules. He claimed that the court order was being violated. It was brought to the notice of the Supreme Court that the constructions were being carried out against the guidelines of the Coastal Regulatory Zone and the case was pending in the National Green Tribunal. He said that the constructions are being done in violation of the orders of the State High Court.

Sivaram Prasad said that the actions of the AP government were in violation of Article 21, 48/1 of the Constitution and demanded that these should be stopped. It is stated that Jivo has been released to move the offices aside from the High Court orders.

He explained that the CM camp office in Rushikonda and offices for senior officials in Visakhapatnam have been brought. The petitioner has asked for orders to stop the construction and inauguration of Rushikonda until the pending cases in the National Green Tribunal and AP High Court are resolved. A copy of the GEO issued by the Government regarding the office relocations and the news in the newspapers.
