Indian origin citizens working in US with H1B visa will get a huge relief. America has taken steps to avoid the need to come to India for H1B visa renewal. The changes have been made in visa rules. It provides the facility to renew these visas in America. America has given green signal to process of renewing twenty thousand H1B visas as a pilot project. The authorities are making arrangements to implement this process in the month of January next year. This will give relief to the employees of Indian descent in US.
Major changes have been made to US visa categories in 2023, including the EB-5 visa program, H1B, and F, M, and J visas. These changes will be applied to all embassies in India.
Bloomberg Law revealed that there is currently no clarity on the procedures regarding this visa renewal, and who is eligible will be known only after the release of the Federal Register notice. White House administration discussed and approved this process on 15th of this month. The Officials said that visa holders need only send 1 mail for H1B visa renewal. Previously, H1B holders had to go outside the US for the visa renewal. They used to go to neighboring countries or mother country and apply for renewal from there. When PM Modi visited US last June, America announced that the domestic renewal method will be adopted to avoid the difficulties of visa renewal.
H1B employees can renew their visas without leaving the country, but their spouses can’t.
