Durga Prasad who played the lead role in the film ‘Nanigadu’ attempted suicide in front of the Film Chamber, Hyderabad recently, which has created the sensation. Deeply hurt by his film getting leaked on Youtube even before its release, Durga Prasad resorted to committing suicide. For the past few days, Durga Prasad has been raising his voice alleging that injustice has been done to him. Hero turned producer Durga Prasad attempted suicide and tried to consume the pesticide to end his life.

Nanigadu’ which was made with 40 lakhs, received a ‘U’ certificate from the censor board of Film Certification and before it’s release, the movie was uploaded on Youtube without his knowledge. Durga Prasad went to Film Chamber asking them for justice by removing the links and also warned them of committing suicide. The next day, he drank the pesticide bottle in front of the chamber. Durga Prasad tried to end his life after his new movie was uploaded on Youtube before its release. He was demanding justice by removing the link of his film from Youtube.

Durga Prasad consumed the pesticide and the same was caught on camera. After this, the Police took him into the hospital. Police have reportedly recovered a suicide note written by him where he said that he tried to end his life after his new movie worth Rs 40 lakhs was uploaded on Youtube before its release.

The Indian film industry loses around Rs. 18000 crores and over 60,000 jobs every year because of piracy. A survey found that a piracy chain that ends with a street-smart peddler begins with the highest echelons of the film industry, with links to Mumbai, Singapore, and Dubai. A number of celebrities from the Indian film Industry, have already urged people to stop piracy and illegal streaming of films.
