The nominations for the 16th Asian Film Awards is out. SS Rajamouli’ RRR and Mani Ratnam’ Ponnayan Selvan films have been selected for Asian Film Awards nominations. The awards ceremony will be held on 12th March. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyan Selvan has received nominations in all 6 categories. Rajamouli’s film RRR bagged a place in two categories. Only these two movies from our country got a place.

Vikram, Karthi, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Ponnayan Selvan is nominated for Best Film, Best Editing (Sreekar Prasad), Best Costume Design (Eka Lakhani) Best Cinematography (Ravi Varman), Best Original Music (AR Rahman), and Best Production Design (Thota Tarani). RRR is nominated for Best Visual Effects (Srinivasa Mohan) and Best Sound (Ashwin Rajasekhar) categories for the film.
