Supreme Court delivered a historic judgment on abortions rights and marital rape, challenging some long-held stereotypes in the process. The court said, “All women, married or not , are entitled to a safe and legal abortion process. It held that distinctions between the married and unmarried women, under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, is unconstitutional. It violates the Right tothe Equality under Article 14 of the Constitution. , Poonam Kaur lent her support to the Supreme Court’s verdict on the abortions.
The judgment came in a case about if an unmarried lady can seek abortion of pregnancy of up to 24 weeks. The court had already allowed her abortion at 23 weeks. Before this, the limit for termination of pregnancy was 20 weeks for unmarried women, while being 24 weeks for the married women.
While supporting Supreme Court’ verdict, Poonam Kaur said she saw women who are forcing the men to abide by their relationship by getting impregnated.
Ponam Kaur Lal said, “ I am supporting this judgment. I have seen the females impregnate themselves to keep the marriage and their financial security, where man has to suffer all his life in many ways. Women should not be using their power of reproduction as a weapon for the selfish reasons.”
Poonam Kaur’ post is triggering speculation as to whom the actress is targeting.
