Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi used to physically and verbally abuse Ghajini fame actress Jiah Khan, her mother told a Mumbai court on Wednesday. Jiah Khan died by committing suicide in 2013. Sooraj was out on bail after he was booked for abetment of suicide by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Sooraj Pancholi who was in a relationship with the 25-year-old actress, has been booked for abetment of suicide in the case probed by CBI. He is currently out on bail. On Wednesday, Jiah’s Khan mother Rabia Khan started recording her testimony in the case before special judge A S Sayyad.
Rabia Khan told the court about the actress’s entry into Bollywood, her career progression and her relationship with Suraj Pancholi. About four months before her daughter alleged suicide in June 2013, she had accused her boyfriend, and Bollywood actor Suraj Pancholi, of physically and verbally abusing her.
According to Rabia Khan, Sooraj Pancholi called her daughter with dirty names and he had thrown her out of the car. One time when they were in Goa, Sooraj used to embarrass Jiah in front of his friends by flirting with other women in her presence. Rabia also claimed that in pictures sent by Jiah Khan a month earlier before suicide, she saw bruises on her thigh.
Sooraj Pancholi is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, he debuted with the romantic action film Hero.
