Prakash Raj is in legal trouble. The versatile actor who contested in Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, is facing the legal problems because of his Hindi film, Tadka, the Hindi remake of Ulavacharu Biryani, which is yet to hit the theaters . Prakash Raj was sued by Essel Vision – a Zee group company, over the non-payment of Rs 5.88 Cr. Essel Vision headed to court to file a case against Prakash Raj for not paying them on time for his directorial debut.

Apparently, Prakash Raj and the production house signed an agreement with Essel Vision in the years 2016, and gave 60% stake of the film’s IP, however, Essel group approached the court citing breach of contract. The movie starring Taapsee Pannu, Ali Fazal and Nana Patekar. The soures revealed that Prakash Raj had signed an undertaking stating that he will pay off the entire amount, Rs. 5.88 crores, to the production house Essel Vision by 15th July but he did not pay the amount. So Essel Vision has filed a case against Prakash Raj.

On Friday, Prakash Raj arrived in the court with a cheque worth Rs 2 crore. Essel Vision has now acceded to give the actor time until February for the remaining amount to clear off .
