We have already reported that Priyamani has been roped in upcoming movie of Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam 1992. Priyanami is one of the talented and glamorous actresses but she is yet to get her due in Tollywood though she is busy judging a dance show in Telugu circuits. According to the latest buzz in the film industry, Priyamani will be seen playing the role of Telangana based rebellious singer Belli Lalitha, who was killed by Gangster Nayeem in Virata Parvam 1992.

The rebellious singer Belli Lalitha was born in Nancharpet, Atmakur Mandali, Nalgonda district in a Telugu-speaking Kuruma. The folk singer was fighting for the cause of Telangana statehood and was immensely popular in rural areas. She was offered a seat by Samajwadi Party in 1999 elections from Bhongir constituency before she was killed.

In 1999, Belli Lalitha was kidnapped, assaulted, and hacked with an axe to the point her body parts were dismembered into 17 pieces. Her dismembered body parts were then thrown in front of the Choutupoal police station by the assailants. Initially, the then TDP government home minister Alimineti Madhava Reddy was implicated in the murder but it was cleared that she was killed by local Naxalite godfather and kingpin Mohammed Nayeemuddin (Nayeem).

Now Priyamani will be seen playing the role of rebellious singer Belli Lalitha in Ran Daggubati starrer Virata Parvam 1992.

Already, national award-winning actresses Tabu and Zarina Wahab are on the board to play the key roles in Virata Parvam 1992, which will be directed by Venu Udugula and produced by Sudhakar Reddy.

In Tollywood, Priyamani was last seen in Mana Oori Ramayanam , which was released in 2016 and now she will be seen in Virata Parvam 1992. Currently Priyamani are busy in her upcoming movies- Nanna Prakara, Dr.56 and Sirivenella.

It will be very interesting to see Priyamani in the role of rebellious singer Belli Lalitha in Virata Parvam 1992.
