It is known that Tollywood was reeled under a drug scandal after officials of Telangana Excise (Enforcement) Department busted a major drug racket that supplied high end drugs like lysergic acid diethylamide and methylenedioxy- methamphetamine to people in the corporate sector, students and celebrities. 12 of the biggest names in Telugu Film Industry were confirmed to be part of the drug investigation. Hyderabad drug bust became sensational after the list of celebrity names from Tollywood was leaked to the media. Now according to the latest report, the drugs scandal that rocked Tollywood in 2018 has taken a new turn as the Nampally Court in Hyderabad has granted major relief to director Puri Jagannadh and the young actor Tarun.
Nampally Court in Hyderabad dismissed the cases filed against Puri Jagannadh and Tarun by the Excise Department.
Six out of the eight cases filed by SIT of the Excise Department in connection with Tollywood drugs scandal were squashed by the Nampally Court.
Puri Jagannath, Navadeep, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, Charmee Kaur, Tarun, Shyam K Naidu, Mumaith Khan and Tanish were some of the Telugu film celebrities booked in the case.
