Senior actress Kanchana made serious comments about the film maker SS Rajamouli. She acted as heroine in more than 150 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Most notably, she acted in the young and happening actor Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy. Participating in a program, Kanchana shared personal and professional matters with the audience. In this order she mentioned Rajamouli. Kanchana said, “I was approached for a role in Rajamouli’s Baahubali. The shoot was for two days. I demanded Rs 5 Lakh”.
Rajamouli said to me, “It is too much. we can’t give that much to your character. Rs 5 lakhs is not a big deal for Rajamouli but for us it is a big amount. He thought the amount was too high and said he didn’t want me. He put me aside for five lakhs and insulted. Don’t think I’m talking like this. I have many senior actors with me.” She expressed her impatience by saying that she can do it if given roles. She said in her words that artists are going through many hardships.
SS Rajamouli got national recognition with the movie ‘RRR’ starring mega power Star Ram Charan and young Tiger Jr NTR. This movie has established Telugu cinema in the world level.
