Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the Kerala theatrical rights of upcoming sci-fi drama ‘2.0’ have been acquired by a leading distribution firm for a whopping Rs 16 Cr. This is the highest ever price offered for a non-Malayalam film and it has crushed the record of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali as it’s right fetched Rs 10.5 Cr.
2.0 marks the acting debut of Akshay Kumar in the south film industry. It also stars Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in important roles. The film, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, is slated to hit the theaters on 27th April 2018. Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman has composed the music.
