Everyone knows that the ‘Oscar’ award is the highest among the world famous awards. And for the first time, this award was won for our Telugu industry by SS Rajamouli‘s blockbuster drama RRR with Naatu Naatu Song. We have already reported that Naatu Naatu also won Best Song at the 80th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this year.
RRR stars – Mega Power Star Ram Charan and Young Tiger Jr NTR, Karan Johar, veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam are among the new list of invitees to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Bollywood film maker Karan Johar is listed as one of the members in the producers category. Recently, the Academy has confirmed that they are adding a total of 398 new members to their Oscar jury.
MM Keeravani and Chandrabose, who won for RRR song Naatu Naatu, have also received invitations from the Academy. On the otherside, the Filmmaker Shaunak Sen, whose documentary All That Breathes was nominated for Academy Awards, is also one of the members. In cinematographer category, KK Senthil Kumar, who worked for SS Rajamouli’ RRR, is also among one of the members. With this, we have to say that this is another pride moment for our Telugu cinema.
Academy now has more than 10,000 members.
