Ram Charan and his wife Upasana opened up about caste killing murder of Perumalla Pranay. Ram Charan wrote on his Facebook, “Extremely disgusted with the so called ‘honour killing’.. Where is the honour in taking a life?? Where are we going as a society??

The 24-year-old Perumalla Pranay, a Telangana man was hacked to death allegedly by a killer on Friday when he was coming out of a hospital with his wife Amrutha Varshini after a regular pregnancy check-up. He was brutally murdered by a killer who was hired by Amrutha Varshini ’s father T Maruthi Rao for Rs 10 lakh. Pranay, a Dalit of the Mala caste had married Amrutha, a Vaishya in the month of January despite strong opposition from Amrutha’s parents.
The last rites of Pranay took place in Miryalaguda on Sunday. During the media interaction, Amrutha Varshini said, “ My father, Maruthi Rao, is the main accused, and I have already decided that i will stay with Pranay’s family and vowed to never return to the place she once called home. “
Perumalla Pranay’s mother, Hemalatha said, “We will take care of Amrutha. We can’t leave her like that. If we deny her this, where will she go? We will take care of her and her baby, and will continue to fight legally.”
On the other side, Amrutha’s father Maruthi Rao told the police that the ‘honour’ of his caste was more important for him than his daughter.
Meanwhile Ram Charan is working with Boyapati Srinu for his next project RC12, which is progressing at brisk pace in in Azerbaijan.
After wrapping up the shoot of RC12, Ram Charan will work with Jr NTR for Rajamouli’s RRR.
