Rana Daggubati, the famous star of South Indian cinema, recently attended a pre-release event of his special friend Dulquer Salmaan’s film King of Kotha. Rana praised Dulquer Salmaan and said that he is a very calm person and giving an example of this, he shared an anecdote which is related to the Bollywood actress.
Rana Daggubati revealed that once a big heroine of Bollywood wasted Dulquer’s time, after which he got furious at the producer. Rana Daggubati not only praised Dulquer, but also told an anecdote and said, ‘Dulquer was my junior in acting school. We became friends there, he is a very humble person. He was doing a Hindi film and the producer was my friend. The shooting was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer. While he (Dulquer) stood in the corner with the spot boy, a leading Hindi heroine working in that film was engrossed in a phone conversation with her husband about shopping in London, her lack of focus affected the quality of the shots. Dulquer remained calm at that time, but later he had lashed out at the producer.”
Rana did not mention the name of the film during the conversation, but the name of Sonam Kapoor, who appeared in ‘The Zoya Factor’ with Dulquer Salmaan, started cropping up. It is known that in year 2019, Dulquer made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘The Zoya Factor’ opposite Sonam Kapoor.
Sonam Kapoor’s husband Anand Ahuja is based in London. Following this, Rana Daggubati issued a clarification on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.”
