Rangamarthanda Movie Review: After a gap of six years, Krishna Vamsi made his comeback in direction field with Rangamarthanda starring Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Aadarsh Balakrishna, and others, which has finally arrived at the theaters on 22nd March. Let’s see the story of Rangamarthanda.

Story: Raghava Rao (Prakash Raj) is a stage actor who has reached the top of his career. For his unprecedented contribution to art, he was given the title Rangamarthanda. As  he grows older, he decides to retire from his profession and divides his property among his children Sri (Shivathmika Rajasekhar) and Ranga (Adarsh Balakrishna). Afterwards, both he and his wife Raju Garu (Ramya Krishnan) gets mistreated by their children. The rest of the story is the emotional drama between Rangmarthanda Raghava Rao and his children.

 Plus Points:

·         Casting

·         Prakash Raj Performance

·         Emotional scenes between Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam

·         Megastar Chiranjeevi voiceover

 Minus Points:

·         First half slow pace

·         Few lag scenes

·         Editing

Performance: Firstly, the director Krishna Vamsi who took Prakash Raj for the main role of Raghava Rao in this movie is really commendable. Prakash Raj once again lived a wonderful life in the role of Raghava Rao in this movie, similar to his role in the Kanchivaram movie, which won the National Award a few years ago. Many of his scenes touch the audience and make them cry. Padmasree Brahmanandam once again proved that actors who can cultivate comedy can also cultivate heartfelt emotions. In the first half of the comedy, his character moves us very emotionally in the second half. Ramya Krishna also acted very well as a support artist for Prakash Raj as a housewife. Shivathmika Rajasekhar performed her role naturally and impressively. Also, Anasuya Bhardwaj, Rahul Sipliganj and Adarsh Balakrishna acted very well in their respective roles.

Technical: The music provided by Ilayaraja are good. Especially the dance of Prakash Raj is very good along with the party song. Raj K Nalli’s photography is good and the production values are also good. The editing work is just ok. And the dialogues written by Shiv Prasad are very good. Despite taking a gap, director Krishna Vamsi once again brought out his amazing directorial talent with Rangamarthanda. He has directed this movie so that the first half is loaded with fun and the second half has number of emotional scenes, touching the hearts of all sections of the audience. But in the middle, the story of the saga feels a bit ordinary.

Analysis:  Overall Rangamarthanda is the story of a stage artist. Krishna Vamsi made this movie appealing to people of all ages. This emotional drama will connect well with the family audience. Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam  impress everyone by the excellent performances. This is a must watch movie.
