Ratna Pathak Shah is an actress and director known for her work in Hindi theatre, television, and films. Her extensive work in theatre includes a series of plays in both Hindi and English She rose to prominence when she appeared in the hit TV serial Idhar Udhar in 1980s. Recently Ratna Pathak interacted with media and made unexpected comments on SS Rajamouli’ blockbuster drama RRR starring Young Tiger Jr NTR and mega Power Star Ram Charan,
At a book launch event, Ratna Pathak said, “Films like Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR are so popular today. But it’s a regressive film, it looks backward while we should look forward. We just feel whatever we are doing is good because we are part of mother of democracy, India.”
Ratna added that until filmmakers would not see their work critically, we would have to watch films like RRR. She further said, “We don’t like the criticism, our ego gets hurt. This atmosphere is created by many big people and unfortunately, we have accepted it.”
It is known that DVV Danayya’ production venture RRR has bagged two nominations at the prestigious Golden Globe Awards for Best Non-English Language Film and the Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu.
