Revealed! Why Ranveer Singh rejected Arjun Reddy’s Hindi remake

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh who is  basking in the glory of his recently released periodic drama ‘Padmaavat’, directed by Sanajay Leela Bhansali in which Deepika Padukone played the female lead role, was the first choice  for  Hindi remake of Telugu hit movie ‘Arjun Reddy’, in which Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey played the lead role. Sandeep  Reddy  Vanga wants to bring Ranveer Singh  on the board to reprise the role of Vijay in this Hindi  remake but the actor said  no to him.

Post Padmavaat Success, during the media interaction, the actor  revealed that why he rejected Arjun Reddy remake. He said that he was offered a film where he has to play an alcoholic but as he doesn’t drink, it was very difficult to say yes to the makers for the movie.

Arjun Reddy is  the story of an alcoholic, drugged philandering surgeon who loses his heart to a young innocent medical student and goes the Devdas way.  Finally the  makers roped Shahid Kapoor to play the lead role in Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy. He requires intense preparation, including losing at least 8-9 kilos to look gaunt and drugged. He will also need to learn how to snort cocaine and how to inject himself with stimulants and uppers. Incidentally, the actor played a druggie rockstar in Udta Punjab.
