Filmmaker-actor Rishab Shetty’s latest release ‘Kantara‘ won the hearts of the Indian movie lovers and turned out a blockbuster at the box office. Apart from helming Kantara, Rishab Shetty also played the lead role. Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, the movie Kantara follows a Kambala champion, played by Rishab Shetty, who comes to loggerheads with upright Forest Range officer, Murali (Kishore). Kantara was made on the budget of Rs 16 Cr and earned more than Rs 400 Cr worldwide. Rishab Shetty was paid Rs 4 Cr remuneration for his work as the lead actor and director of the film.
Pramod Shetty who played the role of Sudharaka in Kantara, received Rs 60 lakh as his fees. Kishore, who essayed the role of Forest Officer received Rs 1 Cr as remuneration and the actress Saptami Gowda was paid Rs 1 Cr. Achyuth Kumar who played the role of main antagonist and the king’s descendant was paid Rs 40 lakh as his salary.
