Gargi is a women centric movie in which Sai Pallavi played the lead role. Though the movie opened up with mixed response, the performance of the actress was applauded by many. Now according to the latest report Sai Pallavi achieved a rare feat as her movie Gargi has been selected for the 44th Moscow International Film Festival. Gautham Ramachandran, the director of this drama, confirmed the news officially.
In this film Gargi (Sai Pallavi) works as a teacher in a school. The story opens with her life turning upside down when her father is arrested by police. Gargi tries to meet her father but police officer handling the case explains that he was arrested only after the police followed his activities. The police also ask Sai Pallavi to leave the town before she comes under the scanner of the media and gets public attention. Later Gargi decides to fight the case when it is heard in court.
The movie also has Kaali Venkat, Aishwarya Lekshmi, R.S. Shivaji, and others in the supporting roles which is bankrolled by Blacky Genie and the My Left Foot banners. Suriya and Jyotika’s home banner 2D Entertainment handled the distribution of Gargi in Tamil. Gargi is now streaming on the SonyLiv platform.
