Will Smith stunned the star studded audience  and everyone watching at home  when he took to the stage and smacked Chris Rock across the face after the comedian made the joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss at the 2022 Oscars on 27th March. Oscar winning actor Will Smith was in the headlines not only for bagging the award for Best Actor for King Richards but  also for slapping comedian Chris Rock during the award event. Now our South beauty Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about Will Smith’s slapping comedian Chris Rock.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to her Insta stories and wrote, “The internet is divided on who is right and wrong. The answer is in understanding comedy and masculinity”.

Oh Baby actress Samantha further wrote, “Alopecia is an auto immune disorder that can result in hair loss. Jada Smith has been vocal about her struggle. In the world where women’ beauty is often tied to hair, it makes her situation especially delicate. Chrish Rock or any comedian should not make someone’ looks their punchline. Be it hair weight, height etc. When the comedians make jokes by belittling or offending someone it is called punching down. But then, is physical assault the appropriate response? Also no. No matter how wrong or offensive a person is, assaulting them is a crime. This is the core problem with toxic masculinity.”

On the  work front, Samantha will be seen in Shaakuntalam.
