Sanju – the biopic of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is one of the most awaited movies of this year. Ranbir Kapoor is reprising the role of Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture. Today morning Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani took to social media to unveil the latest poster from this upcoming movie Sanju featuring Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt. The director Rajkumar Hirani also revealed the biopic is titled Sanju as Sanjay Dutt‘s mother and legendary actress Nargis Dutt would lovingly call his son as Sanju.
Rajkumar Hirani released the poster today on the occasion of Sunil Dutt’s birthday and he cptioned the poster, “She lovingly called him #Sanju, and now that’s what we all do too! Watch the ever so wonderful Manisha Koirala as Nargisji on 29th June. @mkoirala #RanbirKapoor! #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.”
Coming on Sanju’s black and white poster, we can’t deny the uncanny resemblance between Sanjay Dutt’s mother Nargis Dutt and Manisha Koirala who is playing the role of Sanjay Dutt’s mother in this film Sanju. The poster features Manisha Koirala and Ranbir against the backdrop of New York.
When Sanjay Dutt was busy in the shoot of Rocky, his mother was taking the Cancer treatment in New York. It is also said that Sanjay Dutt cried after 3 years of his mother Nargis Dutt’s death remembering her.
Earlier Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala have worked together for several movies including Yalgaar, Sanam and Kartoos.
Sanju has other stars like Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Diya Mirza, Jim Sarbh, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and others in supporting roles. Earlier, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan was approached to play Sunil Dutt in Sanju but the Dangal star refused the offer because he wanted to essay the role of Sanjay Dutt.
