Kamal Haasan wrote on his twitter, “Sarkar has been certified by CBFC. Yet Government dares to muffle the right of people to express. This is not democracy. Fascism was defeated before, will be done again. @ARMurugadoss”

Kamal Haasan has reacted to the government’s decision asking AR Murugadoss to sign an undertaking stating he will not criticize the government in his movies again. The versatile actor Kamal Haasan took to Twitter on Tuesday and questioned the decision adding that the film has already been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Kamal Haasan also added that this isn’t what democracy stands for.  Finally Murugadoss and Sarkar has got unexpected support from Kamal Haasan.

The Madras high court has posted to 28th November, further hearing of the anticipatory bail petition filed by Sarkar director AR Murugadoss, which came under harsh attack from ruling AIADMK party for allegedly depicting certain scenes against the party.

Granting an interim relief, Justice G.K.Ilanthiraiyan had directed police not to arrest AR Murugadoss till 27th November. When the petition came up for hearing on Tuesday, Vivek Ratnam, counsel appearing for Murugadoss,  submitted that the objectionable scenes had now been removed and the director also expressed his regret.

Days after Sarkar, a movie directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures starring Vijay, Keerthi Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was released, the director received several threats from AIADMK members, with Tamil Nadu State Law minister warning legal action against the movie.

The police had visited AR Murugadoss’s house with an intent of arresting him, he had sought for anticipatory bail from Madras High Court.

Vijay and AR Murugadoss’s Sarkar was released both its Telugu and Tamil version in over 450 screens across these states on 5th November. Having decent advance booking, Sarkar opened to fantastic response and it has turned out hit at the box office.
