Screening of film ‘Rajadhani Files’ gets halted by AP High Court

Rajadhani Files is a political background movie, developed under the theme of farmers’ protests at Amaravati. We know that the film was released on February 15 theatrically. Prior to state elections, the film has experienced a misfortune in the High Court. Justice Jayasurya reserved his judgement and released the interim order on Thursday.

Already on Wednesday, the High Court had reserved its orders on a stay petition filed by MLC and YSRCP general secretary Lella Appi Reddy. Challenging the censor certificate handed over to the film, Justice N. Jayasurya reserved his order on the petition.

It was criticized by the petitioner that the movie is all about finding faults with the ruling government and certain sequences are casting aspersions on the chief minister and putting the people on the wrong track with misrepresenting truths. He also poured scorns on the filmmakers saying that they had crossed limits in making the movie prior to election situations in the state.

Later, the producers approved the revision committee post the suggestion offered by the censor board to delete such upset sequences in the movie and of course, they had also informed the court. However, final judgement is being awaited.
