Ascribed to suspected colon cancer and Coronavirus-related issues, senior singer Bhupinder Singh passed away this morning around 7.45 am at a hospital in Mumbai. According to reports, Bhupinder was admitted to a private hospital a few days ago, having an infection in urine.
When he was under medical observation, doctors revealed that he was affected with Covid-19. He was 82-year-old. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences towards the singer’s family through Twitter.
He tweeted, “Anguished by the passing away of Shri Bhupinder Singh Ji, who has given memorable songs for decades. His works struck a chord with several people. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Bhupinder Singh had worked with music bigwigs like Bappi Lahari, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, RD Burman and others in his singing career. He is well known for his top songs in Bollywood like Dil Dhoondta Hai, Ek Akela Is Shaher Mein, Naam Gum Jaayega and others.
