Samantha is playing the titular role in an upcoming film Shaakunatalam which is helmed by Gunasekhar. Earlier during an interview, Samantha had said, “I have always liked choosing films that are completely different from my previous work. Shaakuntalam is the extreme opposite, the other side of the spectrum from Raji from The Family man 2. I have always been obsessed with mythology, period dramas, and this princess world. I really loved my dream role with Shaakuntalam.” But now the reports are coming that Samantha is not happy with the output of Shaakuntalam.
The makers have already wrapped up the entire shoot. Now days filmmakers are promoting their films even when the shooting isn’t complete. They are releasing regular updates in order to keep the buzz alive. But the makers of Shaakuntalam are maintaining silence.
The reports are coming that co-producer Dil Raju is not happy with the final output given by Gunasekhar. And not only Dil Raju, Samantha is also not impressed by the content and the output and that is the reason why she is staying away from this drama.
On the otherside, Samantha is working for women centric film Yashoda and she will also be seen in International project Arrangements of Love.
