Several actresses spoke on the casting couch and #MeToo movement exposing names of several biggies in the entertainment Industry. Now the name of Sherlyn Chopra has also been added in this list. Recently Sherlyn Chopra attended an interview and spoke about casting couch.
Sherlyn Chopra revealed the code word used for Casting Couch, and she was several times asked to compromise but managed to slip away from those situations. She said ‘Dinner’ was a code word for Casting Couch.
Sherlyn Chopra shared that when she was starting out in the entertainment industry, she would be invited by filmmakers to ‘dinner’ at midnight. She added that she was naive back then and did not understand their true intentions.
Sherlyn Choprasaid, “I would often approach the makers hoping that they would see in me potential that I saw in me. I would go to them with my portfolio and they would be like ‘Okay, let us meet for dinner’. And I would be like, ‘When should I come for the dinner?’, and they would tell me to come at 11 or 12 in night. And I used to be clueless about it that time.”
Sherlyn Chopra added that she took some time to understand that the filmmakers did not have a professional dinner in mind. For the film makers, dinner means compromise. So when this happened like four to five times, then I realized, the meaning of Dinner. Dinner means, ‘Come to me, baby’.
