Taapsee Pannu is a popular name in the Indian film Industry. Recently in conversation with Chetan Bhagat, she talked about pay parity in Bollywood . Anando Brahma fame actress Taapsee Pannu said, “Yes, it’s very much there (In Bollywood), but you have to understand that in Bollywood the number of “bums on seats” (how many people are coming in theatres to watch the movie) is the criteria for an actor’ remuneration.”
The actress added that if an actress acted in a female centric movie, then after the release, she has to wait word of mouth for movie lovers at the box-office while there are advanced bookings for male actors.
She concluded it by saying, “As now I am a producer, I understand how the success of a movie is determined at the box office.”
During the media interaction, Taapsee Pannu spoke about The Kashmir Files, and said, “If a small movie can garner big numbers then it can not be a bad film. The film evokes the emotional side in people and helps them connect with it.” The Hindi film The Kashmir Files is directed by Vivek Agnihotri and the movie revolves around the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s from the Kashmir Valley.
